Sex Offenders Registration Act- Act 295 of 1994

The City of Westland has taken a proactive approach to assure compliance by those residents who are required to be on the registry.  This approach includes home checks, and close monitoring of the address verification process.  Offenders found to be non-compliant risk criminal prosecution in accordance with the Act. The City of Westland maintains a list of registered offenders who reside within the city. Members of the public may view this list at the Records Bureau during normal business hours. Copies of the list will not be provided to the public. Alternately, the Michigan State Police maintain a list online, this list is available at www.mipsor.state.mi.us/. The internet list can be searched by last name or by entering one of Westland’s two zip codes, 48185 or 48186. Information from the internet list may be printed as desired.
